Sustainable transportation

The Vredeveld Group is a forward-looking company, and we do not shy away from our responsibility regarding sustainability and environmental initiatives for the future.
We specialize in road transport and are constantly working to further reduce the CO2 emissions from our equipment, thus promoting sustainability.
For instance, when acquiring new transport equipment, we opt for cleaner and more fuel-efficient solutions. We also utilize state-of-the-art logistics planning systems and provide our drivers with training in fuel conservation techniques.

"Conventional" fuels, in accordance with legal standards, are no longer sufficient to meet today's needs.

In 2021, we consciously chose a premium-quality diesel with a 7% HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) blend and a Traxx additive. TRAXX is essentially a unique additive package that enhances the properties of fuels, making them more fuel-efficient and cleaner than "conventional" fuels. Additionally, this additive reduces the emission of CO2 and other particulate matter.

Vredeveld Logistic Solutions

The development of an innovative logistics concept in which the entire logistics handling and customer support are entrusted to Vredeveld Logistic Solutions. Within the project, feasibility is assessed both financially and organizationally. Additionally, the organization is structured, trained, and coached as part of this project.

A focus on alternative fuels

The developments in hydrogen/electric trucks are promising, but they do not yet lead to a profitable alternative in the short term. We see the most significant short-term gains in CO2 reduction through the use of alternative fuels such as HVO 100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil). This allows for an immediate reduction of 89% in CO2 emissions. This provides us with the opportunity to prepare for the energy transition in the logistics industry and get ready for the future.

Integral sustainability at Vredeveld.

We make environmentally conscious choices not only for road transport but also in other aspects of our operations.
For years, we have been measuring our environmental impact through records that include our fuel consumption, waste streams, and energy usage at our facilities.

We are ISO 9001 certified and are preparing for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) reporting, which will become mandatory in the EU in 2025.
Furthermore, within Vredeveld, we place a significant emphasis on the health and well-being of our employees, ensuring that they can carry out their tasks in a healthy and safe manner every day. We strive to provide employees with ergonomic workplace adjustments whenever possible.

We also offer various programs, supported by STL (Sectorinstituut Transport en Logistiek), to assist all our employees in achieving a healthy lifestyle. At our Tankcleaning Vredeveld Ter Apelkanaal, we contribute to a better environment as well.

The building is equipped with the latest LED lighting technology, we use electric forklifts, and we strive to optimize energy consumption and reuse.
